The base is rock solid even on my uneven hardwood, and the light itself feels like a warm hug at the end of the day. I was worried the pearl white shade would glare, but it diffuses everything so softly that I've actually started reading under it every night.

The polyester shade throws off exactly the kind of warm glow I was after, and the light weight makes it easy to move from my reading corner to the hallway. It’s sturdier than it looks, which is a relief since I bumped it with the vacuum twice already.

I finally get why the whole "warm, comfortable light" thing matters—the large pearl white shade really does soften everything, turning my living room into a cozy spot. The base feels surprisingly light but sturdy enough that I don't worry about it tipping when I bump past it.
