The ultra-thin frame basically disappears against the ceiling, so all you notice is that clean bar of light. It throws plenty of brightness for a dining table without any glare, and the dimmer works smoothly down to a low glow.
Hung it over our kitchen island and the light is perfectly even across the whole counter, no hot spots at all. The slim bars basically vanish against the ceiling, which is exactly what I wanted in a low room. Install took me about an hour with the included hardware.
