I swapped out the old boob light in my hallway for this and the difference is honestly wild. The oval filigree shade casts these soft little shadows across the ceiling at night, and the dome canopy sits nice and tight so it doesn't hang low. Installation took me maybe half an hour.
The filigree pattern on the shade throws these delicate little shadows across the whole hallway ceiling at night, which I wasn't expecting. Sitting so close to the ceiling keeps it out of the way in our low basement landing.
I swapped out our old builder-grade hallway light for this and the difference is night and day. Mounted close to the ceiling, it doesn't hang low enough to bump your head, which was exactly what I needed in a low hallway. The oval shade throws a really pretty pattern on the walls at night too.
