The light itself is wonderfully even, no harsh hotspots on my desk even after a few hours of drawing. The spring-balanced arm moves with barely a touch, though it took me a day to stop overcorrecting it.
The light is warm enough to work under at night without feeling harsh, and the head tilts smoothly into place. I've been using it for late sketching sessions and my eyes don't feel strained like they did with my old desk lamp.
The arm stays exactly where I put it, which sounds small until you've fought with a lamp that slowly droops while you work. Light is even and easy on the eyes for long drawing sessions, and the head tilts far enough to wash the whole desk without glare.
