Original 1227 Brass Desk Lamp

The spring tension on the three-section arm is no joke, it holds position exactly where I set it and hasn't drooped once in two months. The brass finish has picked up a nice patina too, warmer than the photos suggest.

I've had cheaper task lamps that sagged the moment you nudged them, but this one actually holds whatever position I set it to. The brass joints have a nice weight to them and the three-spring arms move smoothly without any creaking. Two months of daily use and it still feels solid.

The three-spring mechanism is ridiculously smooth, so I can pull the head right over my sketchbook and it just stays put. I paired it with a warm bulb and now it's the coziest corner of my apartment.
