The angular shape looks sharp on my desk, and the rectangular base keeps it from tipping when I nudge it while reaching for my coffee. Both joints hold their position well, so I can aim the light right at my keyboard without it drifting.
The two pivot points on the stem let me angle the light right onto my keyboard without moving the base, which is exactly what I needed. It's slim enough that it doesn't crowd my small desk, and the rectangular base stays put.
The rectangular base feels sturdy enough that I don't worry about it tipping when I angle the head down for reading. It's bright for its size, though on the lowest setting there's still a slight flicker I notice at night. Good little lamp for the desk overall.
