„Nigdy nie tworzyłem modnych lamp, ponieważ szybko wychodzą z mody.” – Lluis Porqueras. Dokładnie tak. Pierwotnie wydana w 1979 roku lampa podłogowa Funiculi jest niezwykle prosta. Choć oferuje ponadczasowe funkcje, takie jak regulowany trzon i klosz obracany o 360°, to właśnie zrównoważone zestawienie podstawowych kształtów przyciąga uwagę, a retro klosz stanowi współczesny kontrapunkt dla cylindrycznej (otoczonej gumą) żelaznej podstawy.

The design is so stripped-back that it disappears into the room, and the light it casts is genuinely warm without any glare. I keep catching myself just looking at the silhouette it makes against the wall at night. Feels like something that’ll never feel dated, honestly.

It’s been over a month and the Funiculi still doesn’t feel dated, which says a lot for something designed in 1979. The slim silhouette fits neatly beside the sofa without shouting for attention, and the light it casts is warm and even. Exactly the kind of quiet, timeless piece I was hoping for.

I’ve had this lamp for a few weeks now and it still stops me every time I walk into the room—that simple 1979 silhouette just works with everything. The light is warm and even, and the base is heavy enough that my cat hasn’t knocked it over once.
