The VL45 Radiohus Pendant from Louis Poulsen is a smooth, striking example of retro-modern design. Originally designed in the 1940s by Vilhelm Lauritzen for the Radiohuset building in Copenhagen, its lantern shape is smooth and crisply rendered from hand-blown glass, casting a glowing light from its center that is both functional and beautiful to witness. The glass is topped with a brushed brass tube, adding a bold nice metallic accent to the warmth cast through the translucent opal glass.

Mia ★★★★★

It throws exactly the warm, even glow I hoped for—the wide glass shade spreads light without any harsh spots, which is perfect over our dining table. It feels solid and well-made, and the retro shape fits the room better than I expected.

Elizabeth ★★★★★

The scalloped glass shade sits perfectly flush against the ceiling, and the way it diffuses light makes the whole room feel softer without any glare. It’s heavier than I expected for its size, which somehow reassures me it’s built to last decades.

Adam ★★★★★

The glow it casts at night is warmer and more even than any pendant I've owned — that 1940s Copenhagen design really knows how to light a room. Installation was straightforward, and the retro-modern silhouette makes my dining nook feel like a mid-century film set.
